The Right Shootings: Each year, around 1,200 permissions to film are issued in Cologne. In immediate vicinity of the Köln-Mülheim »Anrheiner« settings, the Kennedy bank on the right side of the Rhine offers an impressive view of the the Cathedral and the Old Town.

From the »Tatort« crime thriller to the frying place – many fans have searched in vain for the fried sausage stall on the Kirmesplatz (funfair square) beneath the Deutzer Brücke, known from »Tatort« productions set in Cologne. Almost daily, the lobby of the Maritim-Hotel at the Heumarkt with its impressive glass roof is the scene of film shootings; be it »Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten« (»Good times, bad times«), the »Lindenstraße« or »SK Kölsch« – there is always something to see and to make a film about. Located in immediate vicinity of the Heumarkt and the Rhine banks with the departing stage for excursion boats of the Köln-Düsseldorfer Rheinschiffahrtsgesell­schaft and within walking distance of the Old Town, the Maritim-Hotel is the ideal starting point for any possible activity, be it ashore or on the water.
The »Café Reichert« with its unsurpassable view of the Cologne Cathedral has been the scene of thrilling investigations by the SK-Kölsch crew ­several times. In Köln-Ehrenfeld, one of Cologne’s most traditional quarters with a student ­atmosphere, the Neptunbad, a Wilhelminian-style former public swimming pool now under historical preservation protection, hosts a fitness studio and a large-scale sauna area.
